Layered Tastiness: The Breakfast Jar


Introducing my new favourite breakfast.   I affectionately call it, ‘The Lazy-Man’s Breakfast Health Jar’.   You can prep several jars of this deliciousness in advance then have them on hand for the entire week.  Now there’s no excuse not to eat well, or eat at all, in the morning.  Here’s how to make it:

Layer 1: Oatmeal.  I like Rogers oats with ground flax and brand meal mixed in them.
Layer 2: Chia seeds.
Layer 3: Almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and/or sunflower seeds.
Layer 4: Raisins, dried cranberries, cut up dates, and/or dried blueberries.

Pour almond milk in the jar to fill the ingredients, close it up right, then let it sit in the fridge overnight, preferably an entire day, before eating.

The best part about this meal is it will leave you feeling full for hours.
